Down to the surface

And now we drop right down to almost touch the surface with these two images created by John Atkeson. I feel a bit daft telling what they are but I have become accustomed to captioning these images so here goes. In these images John depicts one of the floating buildings that feature so strongly in the Ringworld books. One neat aspect I like is the choice of the building's owner to hover it over a patch of exposed scrith. I guess that stops those religious nuts holding ceremonies beneath your basement all the time :-)
