Revisited Since the last update I lost the whole 3D Studio Max Ringworld project and have had to recreate it from scratch. Not such a chore as you might expect as it gave me a chance to further develope my skills, (such as they are). This set of images benefit from this reworking in two main areas. First of all I believe the terminator shadow to be of more realistic proportions thanks to the maths of Joel who put his calculations where my head is. Secondly I have created a more complex, and hopefully more realistic cloud layer, which now comprises two blended layers of cloud. The starfield may or may not be realistic, comments as ever are welcome. The land water ratio for these renderings is 50:50 and I have tweaked the landscaping process, (again). In a departure from the established norm there is no page with enlargements. The full sized renderings are on this page. Hope the download isn't too slow. The reason for this change is that from the website stats I see that almost everyone who visits the Ringworld pages also loads up the enlargements aswell. From the Shadow Squares (90m Km)
